Dr. Kalpana Doshi is a board certified medical acupuncturist and board certified anesthesiologist and has been practicing within Northwest Indiana for over 25 years. She completed her Anesthesiology Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Interested in alternative and complementary therapies for pain management, and impressed by positive and beneficial effects of Acupuncture, she received her training in Medical Acupuncture at the prestigious UCLA Helms Medical Institute in 2006. She also has had training at Oregon Acupuncture Center in Clackamas, Oregon and Integrated Health Care in Raytown, MO. She is in close collaboration with International Center of Integrated Medicine in Oakland, CA. Since then, she has been treating people with a variety of pain problems with the help of Medical Acupuncture.
Dr. Doshi’s specialties include treatment of back & neck pain, dental pain, stress-relief, cancer pain and chemotherapy related nausea, and women’s health issues. A promoter of natural healing through body, mind and spiritual connection, Dr. Doshi strongly believes that the function and vitality of a person with chronic pain can be improved with acupuncture. Combining these beliefs with her medical background, Dr. Doshi provides low-risk modality of acupuncture that enhances the benefits. Believing in these unique techniques, she has also been involved in the development of integrated medicine project with Community Healthcare system.
Dr. Doshi has been a resident of Munster, Indiana since 1988. During her free time, she enjoys yoga and water aerobics.
Dr. Doshi is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and American Society of Anesthesiologists.
